What could possibly be better?
From the moment I flipped over the first page on the calendar, I was in love. Every day of the year was a car that made me drool. I couldn't believe the luck I had. If you are a car enthusiast, then this is the calendar for you. Forget those clunky month-by-month car calendars, you only get 12 pictures. In this wonderful flip calendar, you get day-by-day dream cars! The only way life could get any better is if you could get the real dream cars one a day. :-)

So Cool!
Anyone who buys this calendar has to love cars. That's a given. OK, so, what's in this calendar? It focuses primarily on a lot of concept and production sports cars, luxury automobiles, and even a few racing models. It features technical highlights of cool automotive innovations currently in use once in a while, too, for those with technical interests.

Each page's big color picture is accompanied by comments or information about the day's car, written by the editors of Car & Driver. Plus, it comes with an online version of the same calendar. What's not to love? Well, this is one of those calendars that feature the cheap 1-page-for-the-weekend deals, rather than allowing Saturday and Sunday to each have their own page. Which is kind of dumb. But, if you keep it at work, like I do, you won't even notice.

My advice would be to buy this calendar if you're just a fan of pretty much all cars and love seeing automotive art.

Can't Live Without
I received it last year for Christmas and had to order it because I did not get it this year as a gift!! As an engineer and working mother of two - soon to be three, this calendar was awesome! I have many of last year's days cut out and posted at the office to remind me what is important in life. It has short motivational sayings for each day that made my life better. Thanks to the authors for something that is read in seconds but makes such an impact!!!!

Build your vocablulary day by day
I received one of these as a gift and have enjoyed starting my day by reading about today's word. One the front of each page the word is given as well as the definition. The word is then used in a sentence. There is a pretty good variety of words. Some of the them are obscure or no longer used. Other words represent recent addition to our language ("cyberpunk", "vaporware'). On the flip side of each page the origin of the word is given in detail. It's clear that the publishers did their research on each of these words and the description of the origin are often provided in great detail.

This is a great gift for the avid reader, lexicographer (the word for 10/16/00), or anyone that wants to build their vocabulary.

America the Beautiful Postbound Magnetic Page Photo Album
Published in Hardcover by C R Gibson Co (2000)
Average review score:

Quality Album with a very nice cover.
This album is made of quality materials. It looks great perched up on a window bench or on top of a hope chest. It is great for home decoration and when people come to the house, it is eye-catching so they become interested in what's inside. Many albums get stacked into a corner or packed in an attic. With this album, you want to keep it out because it looks great! This album is like a brag book. Very nice design and the pages don't stick like many cheap albums in local stores.

Annabelle's Wish: One Magical Christmas: Smart Pages (Smart Pages)
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Pub Co Inc (October, 1997)
Authors: Mary Dykstra, Mary Dyskra, Golden Books, and Amy Bauman
Average review score:

Lasting Friendship and Holiday Spirit
In an age where children are coaxed by Sony Playstations, and the wintery outdoors; it's hard to find something simple that they can cuddle up with in the corner and quietly explore.

The story of Annabelle's Wish seems to facinate both younger children and more experienced level reader's.

Because its from Golden Books interactive series the child could "sound off" characters at any point in the reading. The book offers large bold illustrations, a clever plot twist, and original narration.

As all Christmas classics remind us, this book does make you think about the reason of the Season, and try to make your Heart feel warmer. It builds on the folklore of Santa giving the farm animals "voices" once a year on Christmas. And the friendship that builds between a mute boy and the calf, Annabelle, born on this Holiday.

Although Tommy and Annabelle are its main characters, the storey is about more than the "special" gift they exchanged. It was about how others around them put aside their personal differences to come together in Friendship.

Your child can easily relate to the animals and the frienships found in the storey. And if they understand what is being shown by "unselfish giving" recreate for your Family a special and powerful magic.
